In Bloom

(Our house this morning after our morning jog)

It is officially spring in the Low Country, and we love watching our plants bloom for the first time. From our limelight hydrangea to our grey beard, everything is coming to life. Emerson chased a bunny through our yard this morning, and Seaweed, the alligator, is becoming more active as our wildlife and plant life awaken for spring. It is so magical to watch.

(Grey beard (Travis selected this tree))

I just got some amazing vintage adirondack chairs that will soon surround a fire pit in our backyard. (Stay tuned for post with photos upon completion).

We love our new house and are even talking about finishing off our attic space.

Happy Spring!!

It's Complete!

This post is a little delayed.  :)

It has been a long time coming, and the house is complete!  We moved in right before Thanksgiving and had a huge punch list including finishing the screened-in porch so we didn't want to post pictures until it was completely finished.  Then it was a mater of getting the house camera ready with a very active toddler.  Here are some pictures from Travis' dad's visit last weekend to give you a small peak into our house.  We absolutely love it!  It is perfect for us!

We love having a large backyard for Emerson to run around and play.  Behind our property are miles and miles of nature preserve and a pond housing our new pet alligator, who Emerson so lovingly named "Seaweed".

Continuing the Countdown!!

I am so excited!  We move in 9 days, and the house looks great!!  The landscaping is almost complete.  The lighting is installed.  The plumbers finish their work tomorrow.  The built-in cabinets in the living room go in this afternoon.  Our screened-in porch will be finished in the next few days.  Our fence goes in next week.  Then, it is a bunch of little things.

The pendant lighting over our kitchen island was installed today, and I am obsessed with it!!  Here is a picture that does not do the lighting justice.  I can't wait to share pictures of everything complete and cleaned.  :)

Below is a picture of the landscaping progress.  There will be more sod.  We will also have working black shutters on the front windows of the house, and the back yard will be fenced in.

We have our champagne ready to go!!!

Counting down!

I know it's been a while since I posted an update, and we have had several people ask us for one. So here you go.

We are in the final days of house building. In fact, we will be moving into our dream home in less than two weeks!!!  We are beyond excited!  We cannot wait to celebrate the Holidays in our new home!  The floors are in!
Above is the living room. There will be built-in cabinets on the wall pictured on the right.

The above picture is a quick shot of the master bedroom. We have hardwoods throughout with tile in the baths.

Above is the mater bath. The tile is darker than pictured. (It has some construction dust on it).

You can see all of the hardware is installed.

Also, the landscaping began today.

Lighting goes in tomorrow. They are finishing up the screened-in porch.  The appliances will also be delivered tomorrow. In addition to constantly checking on the progress at the house, we are busy packing and getting ready for the move!

Exciting times!!

The Counters are Going in!!!

I am in love with the countertops in our new house! They look amazing!!

Here is a picture of our kitchen island. (Still in progress. A bar will be added.)

Doesn't it look great with our apron sink?! I have always wanted a sink like this!  Obsessed!!

Our master bath (above) is beautiful with carerra marble.

Last but not least, the guest bath and Emerson's bath have recycled glass countertops with shell bits in it. This picture does not come close to doing these counters justice. They are gorgeous in person!!  Again, obsessed!!  And how good do these countertops look with the paint color?!  Love!!  This paint color is in all of the bathrooms and laundry room.  Benjamin Moore Woodlawn Blue.

We can't wait to move in!!!  5 weeks and counting!!!

Cabinets and Countertops

There is so much happening at the house right now!  There are about 4 or 5 different crews working as I type.  The cabinets are being installed, and we selected the slabs for the countertops.  See pictures below.  (The counters for Emerson's bathroom and the guest bathroom are coming from remnants so no pictures of those).

I am SO excited about the granite we found for the kitchen!!  It is brand new!  We will be the first to have it, and it is gorgeous in person!  The movement in it is unbelievable!!  (Can you tell I am excited?!)  It is called Mont Bleu, and I am in love with it!

The detail is incredible!  The pictures do not do this granite justice!  It is so eye-catching...we crossed three aisles when I saw this on display!  There is onyx and mother of pearl...it is truly stunning!  Look at this close-up:

Here is the other slab we will be using.  (Same granite but one slab up in the quarry).  Look at that movement!  I can't wait to see it installed!

Below is the slab for the master bath.  It is Carrera Marble.  You can see our cabinet and floor colors below the slab.  (The tile will be rectangle rather than square).

Next is the cabinets being installed.  I snapped these photos when I popped by the house this afternoon.  I didn't stay long so I could get out of the way.  It is crazy over there right now.  So exciting!!

Below is a picture of the kitchen cabinets being installed.  There will be an island in the center.  I love the shaker style doors.  (They kind of look beadboard in this picture, but they are not).

This is a picture of the master bath cabinets.  They are also shaker style.

This is a picture of the guest bath cabinets.  They are beadboard.  (Emerson's bath cabinets look the same but flipped...with the cabinet on the left and drawers on the right).

We cannot wait to move in!!
